On June 20, 1997, Purna Rai was born and reared in Dharan, Nepal. Rai was up in a musical household; his three brothers and parents taught him how to play the guitar and composed, wrote, and sang music together. The majority of his musical career to date has been shaped by his family.
Rai completed his elementary and secondary education at Dharan's Delhi Public School before continuing his education at Salesian College in Sonada, Darjeeling. Rai has been actively performing at events and sharing his love of music through live performances throughout his academic career. With the recording and YouTube upload of his debut single "Ma" (2019), Rai's voice was first heard by a global audience. Later, Rai put out music such as "Kasto Lagyo Maya" (2019).
