Nepal Academy, established in 1957, is a prominent national institution dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Nepali languages, literature, culture, philosophy, and social sciences. Originally founded as the Nepal Academy of Literature and Art, it has undergone various transformations, most notably being renamed Royal Nepal Academy in 1974.
After Nepal became a democratic federal republic, the institution adopted its current name as per the Nepal Academy Act of 2007.
